Indianapolis Zoo's Annual Zoobilation Party Will Be June 12

Indianapolis, IN - Tickets for the most popular party in town go on sale February 2, 2009, and they sell out quickly! Tickets for the Indianapolis Zoo’s “Zoobilation 2009 presented by Indianapolis Power & Light Company” go on sale to the public on February 2 at 9am online at indianapoliszoo.com. Zoobilation will take place Friday, June 12, from 7pm to 12am.

In honor of the Indianapolis Zoo’s newest exhibit, “Dragons of Komodo presented by Citizens Energy Group,” which opens May 23, the theme for Zoobilation 2009 presented by Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) is “A Night on Dragon Island.” The event will feature fascinating exotic decor, food and entertainment from southeastern Asia.

Other Zoobilation festivities include a premier VIP Party presented by the Scott A. Jones Foundation and the Zoobilation 2009 Encore Party at the Omni Severin Hotel downtown for all guests staying at the hotel.

Zoobilation 2009 tickets begin at $200 for Indianapolis Zoo members and $225 for non-members. Table packages are available beginning at $3,000. In the unlikely event Zoobilation 2009 tickets are not sold out, any remaining Zoobilation tickets will begin at $275 after March 1. Tickets to the VIP party presented by the Scott A. Jones Foundation beginning at 5:30pm are $60 and are available only with the purchase of a Zoobilation 2009 ticket.

Delicious gourmet goodies from over 70 area restaurants highlight Zoobilation, along with top notch entertainment on stages that stretch from the Washington Street Bridge to all parts of Zoo grounds. Some of the returning restaurants include “Zoobilation 2008 Best of the Best” winners: Adobo Grill, Gelato Da Vinci, Nordstrom Grill, Omni Severin Hotel- Hot Tuna, Rathskeller Restaurant, St. Elmo Steak House, Stir Crazy-Fresh Asian Grill, The Capital Grille and The Flying Cupcake.

 

Each year, Zoobilation raises more than a million dollars to support the care and feeding of the Indianapolis Zoo’s living collection of 2,500 animals and 6,000 plants. Zoobilation proceeds also support the Zoo’s internationally significant conservation and research projects.
