Celebrate the annual epic journey of gray whales with Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. Enjoy daily local whale-watching cruises featuring Scripps naturalists as well as whale-watching expeditions to Baja California, Mexico.

Witness the longest mammal migration in the world, when approximately 20,000 gray whales pass San Diego on their annual, 10,000-mile round-trip journey from Bering Sea feeding grounds to Baja¹s lagoons, where they play, rest, breed and give birth. Come join the fun!

Daily Whale-Watching Cruises
Dec. 26 through March 29
Daily tours: 9:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. or 1:30-5 p.m.

Experience the gray whale migration with three-and-a-half hour, naturalist-guided whale watching cruises with Birch Aquarium at Scripps and San Diego Harbor Excursion every day from Dec. 26 to March 29. Enjoy stellar ocean and harbor views while Scripps naturalists search the seas west of San Diego Bay for gray whales. On board, naturalists share information about gray whales, the ecology and history of San Diego Bay and Scripps Oceanography. Dolphins, sea lions and marine birds make guest appearances.
Each trip is different, and the views are always stunning.
