Disney, FedEx, Texas Roadhouse And Others Participate In Indianapolis Zoo Boo
Indianapolis, IN - No tricks, just treats are in store for those visiting the Indianapolis Zoo this October, as the Zoo hosts its annual Halloween ZooBoo presented by The Sallie Mae Fund. For two extended weekends, October 16-19 and 23-26, Zoo visitors may dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and partake in a safe, friendly and festive autumn experience. Halloween ZooBoo features several activities for all ages. Children will have a blast bowling with pumpkins and riding the Halloween train, as well as other Halloween-themed rides like the Roller Ghoster. They can also learn about not-so-scary animals, jump around in a bounce house, trick-or-treat and even enter to win a painting by an elephant. (Trick-or-treat bags will be provided by Texas Roadhouse, while supplies last.) From 9am to 5pm, guests can participate in a scavenger hunt in the Hilbert Conservatory’s new exhibit, Autumn Harvest, inside White River Gardens. Throughout the Zoo, visitors will notice imaginative Halloween decorations created after weeks of planning by the entire Zoo staff, with fanciful pumpkins provided by Waterman’s Farm Market and decorated by families from the Indianapolis Zoo and Sallie Mae. Also during ZooBoo, undecorated pumpkins will be available for enrichment to a different animal each day.
This event is free for members and included with regular Zoo admission. Zoo admission is $13.50 for adults and $8.50 for seniors 62+ and youths ages 2-12. Children 1 and under are free, and parking is $5.00 per car. Discount coupons are available at Old National Bank; and discount tickets are available at select Marsh Supermarkets. All rides are weather permitting, and ride tickets are required. The Zoo opens daily at 9am. Located in White River State Park downtown, the Indianapolis Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Association of Museums as a zoo, aquarium and botanical garden. The Indianapolis Zoo inspires local and global communities to celebrate, protect, and preserve our natural world through conservation, education, and research, and by providing an enriching and wondrous environment for our visitors and the animals in our care. Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things. |
