Thirty five lucky children and nineteen staff from Saxon Hill Special Needs School in Lichfield, arrived at Twycross Zoo on Tuesday 9th September 2008 in style. The children were chauffeur driven in six luxurious limousines, courtesy of Select Chauffeurs and five other limousine companies over the West Midlands.
In 2007 Steve Mallen from Select Chauffeurs organised a trip to the Zoo for a small group of children from Saxon Hill School. Steve was so impressed by the reaction of the children who were unable to go on the trip, who were thrilled for their classmates who were able to go, that he decided to arrange a trip to take the whole class in 2008.
Steve Mallen, Owner of Select Chauffeurs said, "I am really grateful to All Star American Limousines, Capital Limousines, Heartbeat Limousines, Home James Cars and Special Occasion Cars for their support, by providing their limousines free of charge. We are also grateful to Brownhills Glass for kindly sponsoring the entrance costs. Without their help I would not have been able to take so many children for the trip to Twycross Zoo."
Duncan Gorwood, Headmaster of Saxon Hill School said, “We are very grateful to Steve for organising this trip for us and to all the companies who have generously supported him. The children were very excited about their trip in a limousine and enjoyed seeing the animals in the Zoo.”
