Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo has Six Acres of Indoor World-class Exhibits

Omaha, NE - Out of school with nothing to do? Visit Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo® where there are six acres of indoor world-class exhibits. Now open New Year’s Day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Omaha’s Zoo has exciting indoor exhibits to wander through during Winter Break. Travel through the rainforest in the Lied Jungle® where the temperature is a warm 72 degrees or explore the wonders of the oceans in the Scott Aquarium to visit penguins and sharks. Escape to the desert where you can watch meerkats scamper through the terrain in the Desert Dome. Many of Omaha’s Zoo world-class exhibits are located a short distance from the main entrance. No matter what the weather is outside, (the temperature at Omaha’s Zoo is always nice).

There will also be special animal enrichment activities now to January 3 between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. throughout the Zoo such as penguin feeding at 10:30 a.m. or butterfly encounters at 11 a.m.
Omaha’s Zoo is offering Winter Day Camps, voted Best Day Camp in Omaha by Nickelodeon’s Parents’ Pick for the second year in a row. Give a Gift to Nature family day camp on January 2 is a great way to spend the day. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo is located at Nebraska’s I-80, Exit 454 and is open year-round from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. Admission prices for 2009 and 2010 are $11.50 for adults, $7.75 for children (ages 3 – 11) and $10 for seniors. 2010 household memberships are available for $73 until December 31, 2009 after which prices will be $78 until April 4, 2010.
