Albuquerque, NM - On Saturday, December 5, 10am to 2pm, members of the Duke City Yacht Club and the Albuquerque Model Marine Association will gather at the Albuquerque Aquarium to demonstrate model boat building and show off their "crafts," in both senses of the word. Model boating enthusiasts must be skilled not only in building their models but in operating them remotely once they're "seaworthy."

Model boats on display will include: a PT boat, tugboat, inland fishing boat, Coast Guard boat, air boat, a trawler, yachts, speed boats and a research vessel in progress. Representatives from HobbyProz and Hobbies n' Stuff will be on hand to give visitors advice and recommendations about holiday shopping for model boats and other items. This event is included with general admission ($7 adult; $3 senior/child).

The Albuquerque Biological Park is an accessible facility and a division of the City of Albuquerque’s Cultural Services Department. For assistance in visiting, please call 311 (Relay NM or 711), preferably with three days advance notice. Hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm daily. Zoo admission is $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors 65 and older and children 3-12. Same day combo admission to all BioPark facilities is $12 for adults; $5 for seniors and children.

New Mexico BioPark Society membership confers free general admission to all BioPark facilities and discounts to many special events. Find out more about becoming a BioPark Society member at nmbioparksociety.org.

The BioPark is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is a magical place.  The flora, fauna, remoteness and beauty are exquisite.  Another interesting aspect is how the indigenous people there live.  To learn more and see photos  taken by indigenous children in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you can visit ninosdelaamazonia.org
