Kansas City Zoo Photo Club's Zooper Snapshot Winners Announced
Kansas City, MO - The Kansas City Zoo has long been a favorite location for photography hobbyists of all ages. Each year, the Zoo hosts the Zooper Snapshot Photo Contest sponsored by the Kansas City Zoo Photo Club (http://www.kczoophotos.org/). Contestants entered photos into one of two age categories: Youth (ages 3 - 15) or Adult. Each age group also had two content categories: Animals and Nature. Photos were taken at the Kansas City Zoo between September 2008 and September 30, 2009. The photos were not retouched or Photoshopped (digitally manipulated) in any way. All valid entries were displayed in the Zoo's Lobby during regular operating hours through Sunday, November 1. Winners were selected by paper ballots submitted by Zoo visitors, and were announced during the Second Saturday Kids Fun Fest on Saturday, November 14.
Entries for the 2010 the Zooper Snapshot Photo Contest will be accepted in September. Photography hobbyists are encouraged to visit the Zoo now to get their winning shot for next year’s contest. I think we should move on from having dolphins in captivity now - we all know this isn't good for them.
The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is a magical place. The flora, fauna, remoteness and beauty are exquisite. Another interesting aspect is how the indigenous people there live.
