Kansas City, MO - November at the Kansas City Zoo is beaming with excitement. Just as the news of the polar bear being secured for the new exhibit is sinking in, we received a very special pint-size hairy bundle of dark blue in our Tropics. A first in this new exhibit!

Swinging and pouncing their way through the new African Tropics display, the blue monkey parents are thriving, or shall we say, it may be “monkey-love.” Mom from Omaha and Dad from Texas, met just this spring prior to opening the new exhibit. They fondly developed a bond and created their own family. The baby blue monkey was born on Wednesday morning around 9:30 a.m. and is staying snuggly close to mom in the Tropics. The blue monkeys share their exhibit with mona monkeys and spurred tortoises.

And, even more Zoo-tainment, the Kansas City Zoo is hosting the annual Great Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 7. In honor of our annual smash, our exquisite female elephants will show you’re their finest smashing techniques on their favorite orange gourds just for media on Thursday, November 5 at 10 a.m.

Kansas City Zoo is open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Daily admission through February is only $5.
During November, Kansas City, Missouri residents are free with valid ID and proof of residency.
And, as always, Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ) members are free.
