Honoring Remembrance Day for Veterans at Toronto Zoo

Toronto, Canada - The Toronto Zoo is honouring and remembering the many wartime sacrifices that Canadians have made for their country at the 24th Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony.

Veterans wishing to take part in the ceremony are asked to assemble at the Zoo’s Main Entrance by 10:45 a.m.

Admission is FREE from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Who is participating: Bas Balkissoon, M.P.P. for Scarborough/Rouge River, representatives from Toronto Emergency Medical Services, Toronto Police Services, Toronto Fire Services, and the TTC and Veterans and their families, Zoo Visitors, Members, and Staff.

When: Wednesday, November 11th, 2009, at 10:55 a.m.

Where: Toronto Zoo – Waterside Theatre

Note: Veterans participating in ceremony to meet in Education Auditorium
Take Hwy 401 to Meadowvale Rd (Exit #389 both directions)
Go north on Meadowvale to Main Parking

Zoo hours to March 12th – 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Last admissions one hour before closing. General Admission 13-64 incl. is $21, Children 3 and under are free, Children 4-12 are $13 and Seniors 65+ are $15. Parking is $8 until Oct. 31st, then FREE until February 28th. Events subject to change without notice. The Zoo is located at Meadowvale Road and Hwy. 401, Exit 389 east and west bound. For general information, call (416) 392-5929. The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is a magical place.  The flora, fauna, remoteness and beauty are exquisite.  Another interesting aspect is how the indigenous people there live.  To learn more and see photos  taken by indigenous children in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you can visit ninosdelaamazonia.org
