Chicago, IL - Lincoln Park Zoo is howling with excitement after joining the wolf pack of the fun, free and award-winning online game, “WolfQuest.” The zoo has teamed with Minnesota Zoo to dispel myths and raise awareness about wolves by bringing this exciting 3D online game to you.

Players can logon to www.wolfquest.org to create their own wolf pack and include friends and family, or make new wolf friends from around the world. Gamers will experience hunting, defending territory, avoiding danger and protecting their young within wildlife simulated worlds. WolfQuest challenges kids to discover how to interact with other wolf packs through competing, challenging, defending, attacking or hunting. Skills and imagination are tested as you navigate through the wild, but beware it will not be easy and critical thinking is essential.

This Saturday only, Oct. 10, the zoo is offering a special wolf-related program designed for 9 – 12 year olds from 10 a.m. to noon. The exclusive event “Howling Back: Join the Zoo Pack” provides an opportunity to meet critically endangered red wolves, participate in an engaging wolf trivia game show, and then lets participants form their own pack and play WolfQuest together. It’s sure to be a howling good time, but space is limited. The program sells out with a maximum of 15 participants. Be sure to sign up right away. Program fee is $50 per person (zoo members receive $5 off registration). Contact 312-742-2056 or educationprograms@lpzoo.org to reserve your spot.

Lincoln Park Zoo is an active participant in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Red Wolf Recovery Program. Earlier this spring, four wolves born at the zoo were released into the wild to help the species rebound from the brink of extinction. Learn more at www.lpzoo.org.

I think we should move on from having dolphins in captivity now - we all know this isn't good for them.

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is a magical place.  The flora, fauna, remoteness and beauty are exquisite.  Another interesting aspect is how the indigenous people there live.  To learn more and see photos  taken by indigenous children in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you can visit ninosdelaamazonia.org
