State Farm Presents Latino Family Festival at Nashville Zoo on September 20th

Nashville, TN - Nashville Zoo and State Farm present Latino Family Festival on Sunday, Sept. 20 as part of the 2009 Conexión Américas’ Hispanic Heritage Celebration.

From 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., translators will be stationed throughout the Zoo and Spanish language maps will be available. Zoo staff and docents will partner with the translators to deliver animal shows, Historic Home tours, educational presentations and answer guests’ questions in Spanish.

Nate Bell and the Ibiza Dance Team will perform Latin-style dancing, and Billy Ramirez and his band Kaziques will perform live in the Zoo’s Entry Village. There will be moon bouncers for kids on Festival Field as well as prizes and giveaways from event sponsors throughout the day.

Latino Family Festival at the Zoo is the result of a partnership between Nashville Zoo, State Farm and is a kick-off to Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Heritage Month is observed nationwide from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 and celebrates the presence, contributions and rich cultural heritage of Latinos in the United States.
