Atherstone, UK - Wincey Willis will visit Twycross Zoo on Monday 3rd August to officially open the first ever Pet Care Week at Twycross Zoo.

Wincey was formerly known as a GMTV weather girl and presenter of the television programmes about animals, Animal Watch and Wincey’s Pets. Today she is a radio broadcaster, writer, public speaker and conservationist. Wincey has agreed to donate her time to the charity and will cut the ribbon and officially open Pet Care Week.

This is an ideal week to come and learn about responsible pet care and meet pets from around the world. The week will be full of special activities which will begin at 11.30 am each day with informative talks from our keepers. You will be able to learn how to care for chinchillas, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and a lot more. There will also be opportunities to meet the alpacas and donkeys and hear some interesting facts about them.

Throughout the week we are hoping that charity pet welfare groups will be on site. These charities will be on hand to give you additional advice and pet care information. You can also have your picture taken with the costume characters “Rupert” the rabbit and “Denzel” the donkey or just simply join in the fun and have your face painted, at a small charge, like one of the animals at the Zoo.
