Be All Smiles on August 8th at Scales & Tails 2009, The Living Planet Aquarium's Annual Fundraiser
Sandy, UT - A quote by Joe Moore states that “It’s practically impossible to look at a penguin and feel angry.” Guests are sure to be all smiles on August 8th at Scales & Tails 2009, The Living Planet Aquarium’s annual fundraiser gala. This event is to help raise funds for a new exhibit at The Living Planet: PENGUINS! This addition to the recently unveiled gallery, Journey To South America, will take visitors to the South Atlantic Ocean on an exploration of the Falkland Islands to learn about PENGUINS! The Falkland Islands are home to several species of penguins such as the King, Gentoo, Rockhopper, Magellanic and Macaroni. Penguins migrate to the Islands to breed in September and depart in early spring. Penguins’ curious and gentle nature, grace in the water, and clumsy, funny movements on land, have landed them a spot in the hearts of children and adults alike. This year’s Gala will be held at La Caille, Utah’s premier ultra-luxurious dining experience. Located on 22 acres of Salt Lake’s most coveted Little-Cottonwood Canyon property, La Caille’s grounds offer breathtaking views, manicured gardens, exotic wildlife, canyon rivers, lush vineyards, winding brick lanes and authentic French decor. La Caille itself is housed in an 18th century French-inspired chateau. La Caille is a twelve-year AAA Four-Diamond Award recipient. The contemporary French menu and service has earned praise nationwide. The Gala includes a wine/cocktail bar, classic La Caille menu items, a live and silent auction and live music by Johnny & The Rebels.
