Goddard, KS - Tanganyika Wildlife Park put their fourth baby giraffe on display for the public on July 4th. This is the fourth giraffe to be born at Tanganyika in 8 months. Jim Fouts, the Wildlife Park Director, is extremely proud of their success and stated, “We continue to demonstrate our focus on conversation through quality breeding programs of rare and endangered species.” According to the International Species Information System online, Tanganyika Wildlife Park has had more baby reticulated giraffes born in the United States than any other facility.

The new baby, which has yet to be named, was actually born during Tanganyika’s 2009 Grand Opening on June 13th. “It was quite a day for us. We had record attendance with over 2000 visitors, Sponge Bob, two weddings ceremonies and receptions, and a giraffe born in the middle of it all,” said the Matt Fouts, the Assistant Director, “Now is a great time to visit to see the new baby and the other 10 beautiful giraffes in the herd.”

Tanganyika Wildlife Park is an organization dedicated to the conservation of endangered and exotic species. The Park has been operating since 1986 and first opened to the public August 2nd, 2008. Tanganyika Wildlife Park is West of 183rd St W on Maple. The Park’s hours are 9:00-5:00 daily. For more information on the Park, please visit www.twpark.com.

I think we should move on from having dolphins in captivity now - we all know this isn't good for them.

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is a magical place.  The flora, fauna, remoteness and beauty are exquisite.  Another interesting aspect is how the indigenous people there live.  To learn more and see photos  taken by indigenous children in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you can visit ninosdelaamazonia.org
