Binoculars, Telescopes, and Cameras on Sale at Living Coasts Aquarium
Torquay, UK - Bird buffs will be flocking to Living Coasts Aquarium on Monday 6th July for a day dedicated to birds and bird watching. The day – entitled Birds of the Bay – includes the chance to try out brand new optical equipment, discuss the finer points of ornithology with experts and meet a top local wildlife artist. Between 11:00am and 3:00pm, staff from the London Camera Exchange will be demonstrating and selling binoculars, telescopes and specialist camera equipment. Representatives from major manufacturers including Nikon, Ziess, Opticron and Sigma will also be attending. There will also be a display of books and magazines courtesy of Outdoor Photography magazine. This will take place on the cafe terrace and is free of charge. Living Coasts events coordinator Kate Hall said: “The terrace at Living Coasts is the perfect place to try out optical equipment – the views are fantastic and there’s lots of local wildlife to be seen.” Artist and bird expert Mike Langman will be on hand with hints and tips on bird spotting during the day. He will also be hosting the Birds of the Bay luncheon between 12:00 midday and 2:00pm, which includes a buffet lunch and a 45 minute talk by Mike on the birdlife of Torbay. Living Coasts is home to many native species such as avocets, redshanks and common guillemots. Species seen from Living Coasts include kingfisher, kestrel, peregrine, gannet, fulmar, raven and others. Tickets for the luncheon are £7.50, please contact Living Coasts on (01803) 202470 or e-mail info@livingcoasts.org.uk.
