Food Network Chef Presents Cake At Newport Aquarium

Sun, 4/20/2008 - 4:24 PM

It may look scary, but it tastes delicious. "Ace of Cakes" star, Chef Duff, presented a 4-foot cake in the likeness of Sweet Pea, Newport Aquarium's shark ray, on Saturday afternoon. The aquarium has been celebrating the third annual Sweet Pea Birthday Celebration since April 12th.

The Food Network personality spent time at the aquarium swimming with sharks, and meeting alligators and penguins.

The cake will be on display on Sunday from 10am to noon in the Aquarium's lobby. It will then be moved to the Aquarium's Sharky's Café where guests can try one piece of cake with any purchase from the Café. Sweet Pea cake is only available as it lasts.

"Ace of Cakes" is a reality show on the Food Network that follows Chef Duff and his staff at Charm City cakes in Baltimore. The custom cake shop makes unusual cakes such as an Elvis cake, a three-dimensional German shepherd, and a Wrigley Field cake.

Chef Duff's activities today will air on "Ace of Cakes" on the some time in July or August.

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is a magical place.  The flora, fauna, remoteness and beauty are exquisite.  Another interesting aspect is how the indigenous people there live.  To learn more and see photos  taken by indigenous children in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you can visit ninosdelaamazonia.org
