Toledo Zoo Launches It's New Low Carbon Biodiesel Shuttle Bus
Toledo, OH - Florida’s OK, but your Toledo Zoo is your top value for Spring Break fun this year. It’s a great value that’s close to home, and you’ll find all sorts of great reasons to make the Zoo your destination, from exciting events and activities to (of course) an amazing array of animals! With over 6,000 animals representing over 750 species, the Zoo offers a world of wonder, from tiny toads to mammoth elephants. And on the off chance that the weather in northwest Ohio is less than ideal, The Toledo Zoo features many indoor exhibits that get you up close to some of your favorites away from the elements. To make your visit even more stress-free, the Zoo is proud to announce the arrival of a brand new shuttle to take you from the newly renovated Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot to the front entrance (and back again) in style. The shuttle seats up to 26 passengers, and it features a platform for strollers and wagons. In addition, it’s ADA accessible. The shuttle is expected to run on weekends throughout the spring, and then each day during the summer. The Zoo plans to run the shuttle as needs dictate during the fall and winter months. The shuttle was funded by a grant from The Toledo Zoo Foundation. The Toledo Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo. For more information, please visit www.toledozoo.org or call (419) 385-4040. Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required. The Toledo Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things. With its more than 200 accredited members, AZA is building North America’s largest wildlife conservation movement. |
