During March The Coastal Vibes Art Exhibit Will Be Showcased At North Carolina Aquarium
Kure Beach, NC - The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher embraces the vibes of the coast with its new Spadefish Gallery art exhibit. The Coastal Vibes art exhibit will be on display throughout March at the Aquarium. The exhibit will showcase paintings that are inspired by living on the coast and were created by an award winning group called The Tuesday Morning Breakfast Painters. The Tuesday Morning Breakfast Painters are affiliated with the Associated Artists of Southport. They meet every Tuesday at the Franklin Square Art Gallery in Southport, NC. Most of the work is completed with watercolor, although artists can choose their own medium and subject matter. Members of the group show their art regularly at regional and national shows, and have won several awards. The Spadefish gallery at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher showcases local artists throughout the year. Artwork that coincides with the Aquarium’s mission of “Inspiring appreciation and conservation of North Carolina’s aquatic environments” is located on the second floor, near the auditorium. NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher is located just south of Kure Beach, near the mouth of the Cape Fear River, on U.S. 421. The site is less than a mile from the Fort Fisher ferry terminal. Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day). Admission: $8 adults; $7 seniors; $6 ages 6-17.
