Have you ever taken a Safari Train ride and wanted to get even more information from your train driver? Well, now you can!
Safari Train is offering private one hour tours of our Zoo. Your guide will take you places the Safari Train just can't go. They will make stops based on your specific desires, and customize the tour with you in mind.
Call the Reservations Department to book your Safari Cart Tour at 602.914.4333 or stop by the Safari Train Station located across from the Savanna.
While cart tours are available most of the time, a reservation is necessary to confirm that staff will be available for your tour.

BANK OF AMERICA’S MUSEUM ON US: The Phoenix Zoo is now a proud partner of Museums on Us® from Bank of America. On the first full weekend of every month, when a Bank of America customer shows their Bank of America ATM, credit or check card and a photo ID at the Zoo's Admission booth, they will receive one free general admission ticket. Additionally, Bank of America employees will receive one free general admission ticket by showing a valid employee and photo ID. 6 – 10 p.m. THERE’S STILL TIME TO ENJOY ONE OF THE LARGEST HOLIDAY LIGHTING EVENTS… Zoolights and MORE at the Phoenix Zoo: When the sun goes down and the animals go to sleep…the Zoo magically transforms into a lighting extravaganza, with 2.5 million lights and more than 500 custom-made animal and nature light sculptures. Also, to celebrate the opening of the new Land of the Dragons exhibit, a newly lit Komodo ragon scene debuted at ZooLights this year! Come and enjoy this spectacular light show and these wonderful activities during Zoolights only at the Phoenix Zoo:

6 - 10 p.m. Skate your way into the New Year on our 1,800 square foot synthetic skating rink. Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes. Guests must be 5 years or older to skate. $5 per person, includes skate rental (bring your own socks).

LAND OF THE DRAGONS – See the newest Zoo residents:
Come visit Gaia and Ivan our newest Zoo residents, and have an up-close eye-opening experience with a Komodo dragon, the world’s largest lizard species. Land of the Dragons is now a permanent exhibit that features these sibling dragons that have been reunited after being housed separately in Kansas and Florida. TTThe Zoo’s custom living accommodations allows guests to view these special creatures in a unique and natural environment. MEDIA -- MARK YOUR CALENDARS: On January 16 the GEICO Geckos Come to the Zoo: These colorful and playful lizards will be on exhibit for over a month at the Phoenix Zoo as part of GEICO’s nationwide traveling exhibit. The Zoo, in partnership with GEICO and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), will host a daylong opening event on Saturday, January 16 for the media. There will be photo opportunities and interviews provided throughout the day. Watch for more details!

CELEBRATE PRIMATE PALOOZA: There are 14 species of primates alone that call the Phoenix Zoo home. This special event at the Zoo is a great time to learn more about your favorite lemurs, monkeys, apes and one of the newest species at the Phoenix Zoo, the buff-cheeked gibbons. Bring the entire family and explore the diverse groups of animals from various parts of the world, including Madagascar, Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia. In addition, the Zoo will raise funds to build their new orangutan exhibit for the four Bornean orangutans that live at the Phoenix Zoo! 6:30 – 10 a.m. SIGN UP NOW FOR “WALK IN THE WILD”: Grab your sneakers and head to the Phoenix Zoo for the Second Annual WALK IN THE WILD on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Walkers can choose the One Mile or the 5K run/walk. Each walker receives a commemorative T-shirt, entrance into the Walk in the Wild post-party and admission into the Zoo. Proceeds benefit the not-for-profit Phoenix Zoo. Walk as a team or as an individual…either way you are in for a WILD time!
