Rach to the Rescue films at Reptiland Wed, 9/10/2008 - 4:47 PM — rudy

Rachael Ray is best known for her wildly successful career as an iconic Food Network television show host. However, her resume does not stop here. She is also a bestselling cookbook author and editor-in-chief of her own lifestyle magazine.

Most recently, Ray has been known for her success as host of “Rachael Ray”, a daytime show that debuted in 2006. The show received seven daytime Emmy award nominations in its first year. Ray has just launched a new project in syndication with the show, called “Rach to the Rescue”. For this project, Rachael and her team have put together a group of celebrity chefs who will be going around the country to help people with their culinary dilemmas.

As they trek across the US, the crew is producing a daily web series showcasing several hidden hometown treasures along the way. One of the first stops on their list was Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland. Winner of the second season of The Amazing Race and host of the new web series, Alex Boylan, led the crew for an unforgettable morning of filming at Clyde Peeling's Reptiland. After arriving in a colorful RV, complete with a large image of Rachael Ray on the side, the crew was escorted into the zoo by owner, Clyde Peeling. Clyde gave them an up-close look at some of the unique animals that Reptiland has on exhibit. The segment showcases how Peeling turned his boyhood fascination with reptiles into a lifelong career of educating the public. “His knowledge is vast like a professor, but the best part was that you could tell he loves what he is doing and that is something I strongly respect,” states Boylan.

Reptiland, on Route 15 in Allenwood, PA is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is open daily, year round. The segment featuring Reptiland is available on the Rachael Ray show website, by clicking on the “Rach to the Rescue” icon.
