Animal Symbolism

Man has always believed that animals influence his destiny and energy, and were often felt to be messengers. The Chinese Zodiac associates various animals with their lunar calendar. In some cultures animals represent the reincarnation of ancestors with the individual’s personality determining their specie when they return to Earth. There are many cultural similarities in what a specific specie represents.

We considered Native American, Buddhist, Hawaiian, Asian, African, ancient Greek and Arabian history to assemble the following list of the spiritual symbolism for each specie:

• Bass symbolize aggression, territorialism, and efficiency.

• Bears symbolize gentle strength, power, and protection.

• Deer symbolize love, gentleness, and kindness.

• Dolphins symbolize family, togetherness, and happiness.

• Eagles symbolize being the chief, success, and prosperity.

• Elephants symbolize loyalty, memory, and the wisdom of the matriarch.

• Flamingos symbolize beauty, balance, and grace.

• Giraffes symbolize uniqueness, contentment, and accomplishments.

• Horses symbolize stamina, mobility, strength, and power.

• Hummingbirds symbolize quick riches, agility, and harmony.

• Lions symbolize royalty, courage, and surprise.

• Monkeys symbolize intelligence, teamwork, and commitment.

• Moose symbolize value, oneness with water, and integrity.

• Parrots symbolize companionship, courtship, and communication.

• Peacocks symbolize openness, acceptance, pride, and wealth.

• Sharks symbolize savagery, survival, the hunt, and ancestry.

• Tigers symbolize oneness, stealth, and cunning.

• Trout symbolize overcoming obstacles, going against the current, and miracles.

• Whales symbolize fertility, group harmony, and travel.

• Wolves symbolize perseverance, family, and stability.
