Primate Forest at the Toledo Zoo

In Primate Forest, you will enjoy an "up-close-and-personal" view of primates swinging from vine to vine in three outdoor habitats. Species currently on exhibit include Colobus monkeys, Francois' langurs, DeBrazza's monkeys, Diana monkeys, Allen's swamp monkeys and white-cheeked gibbons.

During incelement weather, visitors can observe the monkeys in their indoor exhibit, located in the adjacent building.

Informational graphics displayed throughout the exhibit identify the different primate species and their native environments.

In July of 2002, the Zoo welcomed its first-ever baby Francois' langur (born to Ashes).

On May 5, 2003, a baby Allen's swamp monkey, a male named Harimu, was born to Maxine and Sly. Harimu's older sister, Stone, was born here in August of 2001.

The Toledo Zoo is one of only four Zoos in the United States to exhibit and breed Allen's swamp monkeys.
