Mogo Zoo is situated in the picturesque historic gold mining village of Mogo, 10 kilometres south of Batemans Bay. Providing world standard facilities for over 200 animals of more than 39 rare and exotic species, Mogo Zoo is committed to the survival of endangered species. This extraordinary menagerie of animals includes pygmy marmosets, giraffes, African hunting dogs, Nepalese red pandas, golden lion tamarins, ring-tailed lemurs, jaguar, Brazilian tapirs, Sumatran and bengal tigers, oriental small-clawed otters, snow leopards, African lions and siamangs. Additionally, Mogo Zoo is the only Zoo in Australia to exhibit white lions.
Mogo Zoo has attained the earnest reputation as being one of the most successful private Zoos in Australia, winning the Regional Attraction Award in the South Coast Awards for Excellence in Tourism in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007. At Mogo Zoo you will be intrigued by close encounters with an array of endangered and exotic animals from around the globe - a truly unique experience!
The keeper talks and feeding sessions offer an educational experience and provide visitors with an insight into the natural behaviours of the animals. Mogo Zoo features beautiful picnic grounds set in luscious wildlife surrounds, barbeque facilities situated just metres from the exhibits, café and gift shop.
It is Mogo Zoo's aim to involve and to educate the public at large and offer its visitors an intimate, educational Zoo experience. Visit this world-renowned Zoo and experience the wonder of its wildlife face-to-face! Mogo Zoo is open 7 days a week (excluding Christmas day).
