Desert Cry Wildlife, Inc. is an Arizona non-profit dedicated to the care of injured and orphaned native wild animals with the goal of returning them to the wild life they were born to live. Those animals that survive but are unable to be released are given life-long care. Desert Cry Wildlife, Inc. is licensed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Although specializing in mammals, Desert Cry can offer assistance with any wildlife situation. At any given time there are numerous animals housed here. Currently (2007) there are rabbits, squirrels, tortoises, Jacks and a packrat in our resident educational program. Desert Cry is located in the sonoran desert landscape of the beautiful San Tan Mountains in Queen Creek, AZ.

Desert Cry Wildlife, Inc. is the realized dream of founder, Regina Whitman. As well as being a Licensed Veterinary Technician, she has been a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator for over 30 years. Regina usually runs the entire facility alone, but does get help at times from volunteers. Permanent resident animals are housed in facilities that afford them as natural an environment as possible. However, it is costly to keep building new ones as the need arises and to maintain the existing ones. That is why, if her busy schedule allows, Regina offers public education in the form of live animal presentations. This raises awareness [for the environment and the creature that live there], and the desperately needed donations to run the facility. Desert Cry also affords an opportunity for students to earn community service credit and cooperates with the Girl and Boy Scouts of America in fulfilling badge and Eagle projects requirements.
