Our facility is small and private, with 7 small ponies including several miniature horses, two classic Shetland ponies, one American Show Pony, and one Pony Of Americas cross.
The Pony Lady LLC is a traveling pony company. We travel to the client's home for parties (Metro Denver, Colorado, USA). Imagine riding a pony on your block, right past the neighbor's house!
We also meet clients at the hosting stable for rides and lessons. Local stables are excited to include our unique program in their venue, and we are currently privileged to travel to Kenlyn Arabian Stables in Aurora, CO for lessons. Kenlyn is a full service boarding, breeding and training facility specializing in Arabian endurance horses. There are generally about 120 horses on the property; a thrilling sight for our little pony enthusiasts to witness! Visiting with and learning about ponies is tremendous fun for little children who love horses, whether the visit is at their home or at the stable. Every visit is educational, even at parties! The children learn about horses and riding through fascinating, age-appropriate activities guided by highly trained instructors. We have small ponies for small children, and very small ponies for very small children! We teach safety and horsemanship skills and help kids have lots of fun experiencing the world of horses. Our carefully managed pony rides and lessons are an absorbing, exciting opportunity for babies, toddlers, and small children up to 65 pounds, and a great photo oportunity as well! Fun with the ponies is by appointment only, and The Pony Lady LLC address listed here is for snail-mail to the office, but is not the location of the stable.Very young children have traditionally been considered too young to learn about the fascinating and rewarding world of horses, so in the past it was just about impossible to find anyone offering small children anything more than a pony ride going around in mindless circles. We designed a unique, transportable program to help small children have safe fun with horses while learning life lessons through horsemanship. We call our program Rational Horsemanship. The program helps kids develop their love for horses into a life long passion for animals, and a pathway to becoming sensible, motivated, thoughtful people. The Pony Lady LLC offers kids a fulfilling horse experience that goes far beyond the average pony ride. Our Rational Horsemanship program teaches life lessons because kids WANT to control their pony; and ponies are living, breathing, thinking individuals, with opinions! To control a pony you must control yourself. To get cooperation from a pony requires planning, focus and tenacity. You cannot lead a pony without leadership skills and you cannot gain the trust and affection of a pony without honesty, integrity, caring and empathy. We help kids achieve the fascinating control and rewarding relationship with the pony that they desire, through fun, age appropriate activities. In the process they learn and develop a great work ethic and strong moral code. Unlike many other traveling pony ride companies, we place safety first, and teach children and their parents to do the same. We train our sweet little ponies ourselves, and help the kids AND the ponies have a good time. We designed our program in stages that creatively teach horsemanship skills to children in a deliberate, precise, carefully orchestrated manner. The program builds progressively; so every stage and the order of presentation makes sense, and is lots of fun. We have over thirty years experience in the horse industry as riders, owners, trainers, instructors, and clinicians. And we love sharing what we know with children who love horses and ponies as much as we do! We also offer a Rational Horsemanship Instructor's Program which teaches horsemanship educators about smart thinking and effective learning, how to maintain the training level of lesson ponies, and how to safely teach small children superb riding, horsemanship and life skills through age appropriate activities on size appropriate ponies in a riding arena - or even at a birthday party. As the designers of Rational Horsemanship we at The Pony Lady LLC are proud to see our program gaining national recognition, being adapted for use in colleges and universities, and applauded by horse industry professionals.
