We are the largest full service Humane Society in Mississippi, taking in over 17,000 animals annually. In addition to dogs, cats, goats and horses, we have received 5 cougars, 3 apes, 7 monkeys, 1 Arctic fox, 3 fifteen foot Burmese pythons and 1 Bengal tiger. All exotic animals are placed in accredited sanctuaries. All dogs and cats must be spayed or neutered upon adoption. The shelter is 14,000 square feet and sits on 48.5 acres. As a 501-C-3 non-profit agency we depend on donations and grants to operate the shelter. Our budget is over $800,000.

As the largest full service shelter, we are the only shelter in Mississippi to accept exotic animals and are fortunate to have a former zookeeper on staff. In addition, we do extensive cruelty investigation and work and assist numerous police and sheriff departments on cruelty to animals and dog fighting cases.
