Opened in: 27 June 1973 Total Land Area: 28 hectares Design Concept: Set in a rainforest environment, Singapore Zoos world famous open concept offers the opportunity to experience and be inspired by the wonders of nature. Animals here live in spacious and landscaped environments simulating that of their natural habitat. Singapore Zoo is taking this further by evolving into an Open, Learning Zoo. Instead of just observing the animals, educational content designed in an interactive mode is a feature of all exhibits. These interpretives aim to effectively convey facts about the animals and messages about wildlife conservation.
